DetectAuto Maintenance V2 Guide

Overview

Maintenance V2 gives your shop full control over each vehicle's maintenance schedule: adjust it for driving conditions, remove, add or swap intervals, verify them once, and build custom intervals for a specific make, model or year.

Recommendations draw on OEM maintenance schedules, CARFAX history and your shop's own service records to flag overdue services. The original version relied on VIN-decoded equipment data plus a manual equipment checklist, which missed equipment and left a fixed schedule. V2 replaces that with a schedule you edit on the spot.

Key terms

Seven features carry the update; the first five live on the vehicle's recommendation list, the last two in maintenance interval settings.

Operating conditions

Switches the OEM schedule between normal and severe use. Pick a preset condition or create your own.

How to

The first four tasks happen on a vehicle's recommendation list; the last two set up rules in maintenance interval settings that apply to every matching vehicle.

Adjust for operating conditions

  1. Open the vehicle's maintenance recommendations. This works only when the vehicle uses the OEM recommended schedule.
  2. Click Operating conditions at the top.
  3. Pick a preset (for example, frequent off-road driving) or create a custom condition.
  4. Click Save. The list updates to the severe-use schedule.
  5. Hover over the adjustment icon on any changed interval to see why it moved.

Remove an interval

  1. Click Edit on the recommendation list.
  2. Select the interval to remove.
  3. Choose a reason:
    • The recommendation is wrong
    • The vehicle has been modified, so it no longer applies
    • The customer handles it themselves, so you don't want to show it
  4. Confirm the removal. The list updates.

Add an interval back

  1. Click Edit, then Add interval.
  2. Scroll the list or search for the interval.
  3. Select it. It returns to the list as before.

Swap to a linked alternative

  1. In edit mode, look for the arrows on an interval. They appear only on intervals linked through Exclusivity.
  2. Click the arrows and pick the correct option, such as synthetic instead of conventional oil.

Verify the list

  1. After any edits, select every interval.
  2. Click Verify.
  3. Each interval now shows a check-mark badge, and the list carries over to the customer's next visit.

Build a custom interval for specific vehicles

  1. Go to maintenance interval settings and open the interval builder.
  2. Create or open the interval.
  3. Open Matching rules and enter the vehicles it applies to. The video limits it to Jeep Rubicon; go broader or narrower as needed.
  4. Click Done to save.
  5. Refresh a matching vehicle to confirm the interval appears. It shows as unverified until someone verifies it.

Link two intervals as mutually exclusive

  1. In the interval builder, open one interval (for example, GDI service).
  2. Open the Exclusivity option.
  3. Search for the other interval (for example, fuel induction service) and select it.
  4. Click Done to save.
  5. On a vehicle, the swap arrows now appear on that interval in edit mode.
Tips
  • Verify every time you edit. Unverified lists may need fixing again on the next visit; the check-mark badge tells you which are done.
  • Swap instead of remove-and-add. If two intervals are alternatives, link them once with Exclusivity and switch with the arrows from then on.
  • Operating conditions are for the OEM schedule. They switch it between its normal and severe-use intervals.
  • New custom intervals start unverified. Expect to verify them the first time each matching vehicle comes in.
  • Refresh the vehicle after changing settings. That's how the video shows a new matching rule taking effect.
  • Pick removal reasons carefully. Use "customer does it themselves" when the service is valid but shouldn't be shown; save "wrong" for intervals that truly don't fit.
