How to Copy & Paste Recommendations from the Detect Auto Extension into Inspections

This guide walks you through copying recommendation text from the Detect Auto browser extension and pasting it directly into your inspection or DVI.

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

1. Open the Detect Auto Extension

  • Navigate to the repair order in your shop management system.
  • Click the Detect Auto browser extension to open recommendations. If you don't see the Detect Auto button, there should be a floating "D" button on the side of your screen:

  

 

 

 

2. Locate the Maintenance Recommendations Tab

  • After clicking the "D" button, you'll see a list of abilities that are currently available to use on the page.
  • Click on the "Maintenance Recommendations" button.

  

 

 

 

3. Copy Recommendation Text

  • On the recommendations page, click on the "Recs" tab.
  • Once on this page, click the maintenance recommendation that you'd like to copy service history information for.
  • Finally, click on the "Recommendation Text". This will copy the text to your clipboard which you can then manually paste into your inspections.
